Despite my best intentions, the holidays are generally a zoo. The choosing and the shipping, the wrapping, the reshipping. Where is the tape? Did I pick up the roast? These lights are kinda iffy, are they a fire hazard, should I throw them away or store them another year? Did I send out the cards to every one on the list, did I print enough cards this year…nope? Back to the studio….. The tip of the iceberg of all of the details to corral. I love it…. Right down to throwing the underdone roast under the broiler at the last minute and serving it as a kind of steak …ish… thing!!!!! Don’t cringe, it was yummy! Weird, but yummy.
This year, a new stress bundle was added to the mix, we are a month out from NYNow. There are things still to organize, a new piece or two in the works that I am excited about but that don’t fit into the line… Do they go to NY or languish in VT for another season? Do these lights need extra bulbs? Did I order enough postcards? Did I send out the right one to the right list? Did I print the entire line, does the seamstress know how MANY new samples are coming? Something didn’t work? Improvise…..
Ahhhh yes, it’s JUST LIKE CHRISTMAS, without the dropped needles stuck in my socks. And…I love it! However, I have this sneaking feeling that Christmas and the show have somehow gotten mixed up, intertwined and maybe even reversed….
